Squash – Minimal Effort EP (GR005)

Squash joins the Gradient Recordings family with an exclusive four-track EP, showcasing a new, developed sound reminiscent of the early 2000s. ‘Minimal Effort’ opens the A-side with a nod to the early days of modern tech house, pairing spoken word with a hypnotic roll meant to wake up dancefloors. ‘Texaco Skate’ follows with tribal grooves and dubbed-out chords, a party starter that fits just about any point in the night. On the B-side, ‘Surge’ and ‘Can’t Make You Love Me’ bring pumping basslines and driving grooves, leaning into the hazy, ethereal feel of early-morning after-hours. A thoughtful, yet well rounded record that we are grateful to share with you.
